NITA International Efforts

The NITA Foundation’s International Rule of Law and Access to Justice Fund along with dedicated funds from the NITA Board of Trustees, helps support NITA’s international programming efforts. The programs supported must be part of a national or regional purpose of promoting the rule of law or of promoting access to justice for persons denied such access. These programs are held by a wide variety of individuals and organizations such as Lawyers Without Borders, cooperative agreements between local foreign bar associations and United States bar associations, individual lawyers and law firms in the United States, and other organizations.

If your organization is interested in applying for a public service program, please fill out this application and submit it to [email protected].

Involved organizations request support in areas such as faculty travel, expenses, program development, and content. Many of NITA’s international programs are in alliance with Lawyers Without Borders in countries such as Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Liberia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda. Other countries include Ireland and Japan.

Please visit our blog, The Legal Advocate, to read about NITA’s service commitment to support justice systems in emerging democracies worldwide.

"All I can say is wow! Kenya was nothing short of amazing. The trainees were engaged and the Kenyan Institute trainers embraced the NITA method. I feel so blessed to have been chosen for such an awesome opportunity. It drove home how much we have here in the States and how important it is to advocate for others. I was there to teach, and in turn I was taught so much!"
